Server Rules
These rules help keep Minetopia fair and enjoyable for everyone. By joining the server, using the website, or participating in our Discord community, you agree to follow them.
Failure to comply may result in warnings, mutes, temporary bans, permanent bans, item or rank removal, or other staff action depending on the severity of the violation.
1. General Rules
- Treat other players and staff with respect
- Use common sense and act in good faith
- Do not attempt to find loopholes in the rules
- Follow staff instructions when asked
- Report rule breaks through the proper channels instead of taking matters into your own hands
- You are responsible for your account and anything done on it
2. Chat and Community
- Be respectful in chat, Discord, and other community spaces
- No spam, flood, excessive caps, or repeated annoyance
- No hate speech, harassment, threats, discrimination, or extreme toxicity
- No inappropriate, NSFW, or otherwise offensive content
- No advertising other servers, shops, Discord invites, or services without staff permission
- Do not share personal information about yourself or others
- English is the primary language for public chat so staff can moderate fairly
- Keep public discussions appropriate for a mixed-age Minecraft community
3. Gameplay
- No cheating, hacking, or unfair advantage clients
- No x-ray, fly hacks, kill aura, macros, or similar unauthorized tools
- Allowed cosmetic or quality-of-life mods may be permitted if they do not provide an unfair advantage; when unsure, ask staff
- No exploiting bugs, glitches, duplication methods, or unintended mechanics
- If you find an exploit, stop using it and report it to staff
- No griefing, stealing, or destroying other players' builds or claimed areas without permission
- Respect spawn, claims, and other protected areas
- PvP is only allowed where the server mode or area permits it
- Do not camp, trap, or otherwise harass players in ways meant to ruin their experience outside fair gameplay
4. Building
- No inappropriate, offensive, or hateful builds
- No lag machines or builds designed to harm server performance
- Keep builds within your claim or permitted area
- Do not build in a way that purposely obstructs or griefs nearby players
- Respect the world, public areas, and other players' creations
- Staff may remove builds that break rules or cause serious issues
5. Trading and Economy
- All trades must be clear and agreed upon by both parties
- No scamming, baiting, or misleading other players
- Use official server trading systems when available
- Do not sell, buy, or transfer accounts, ranks, or in-game items for real money outside approved store purchases
- Report suspicious trading activity to staff
6. Accounts and Store
- One player per account; do not share accounts
- Do not use alternate accounts to bypass punishments, abuse rewards, or gain unfair benefits
- Store purchases are optional and subject to our Terms
- Buying a rank does not place you above the rules
- Chargebacks, payment abuse, or purchase fraud may result in removal of goods and further punishment
7. Staff and Reports
- Respect staff members and their decisions
- Do not argue punishments in public chat
- Use support tickets or the proper appeal process if you disagree with a punishment
- Do not impersonate staff
- False reports, ban evasion, or wasting staff time may lead to punishment
- Staff decisions are final unless overturned by higher-ranking staff
8. Punishments
Violations are handled case by case. Typical outcomes include:
- Warnings or mutes for minor or first offenses
- Temporary bans for repeated or more serious offenses
- Permanent bans for severe offenses such as cheating, hate speech, scamming, or extreme abuse
Evidence, intent, history, and severity all matter. Attempting to evade a punishment may result in a longer or permanent ban.
You can appeal eligible punishments through Support.
9. Discord
Our Discord is part of Minetopia. The spirit of these rules applies there as well, along with Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
10. Rule Updates
These rules may be updated at any time. Players are responsible for staying informed. Major changes will usually be announced through the server, website, or Discord.
Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse.
11. Questions
If you are unsure whether something is allowed, ask staff before doing it.
